PowerA MOGA controller works with Android devices for improved gaming
PowerA has announced that its MOGA mobile gaming system for Android is now available in 1,150 AT&T corporate retail stores, as well as AT&T's online store. The MOGA works with all Android devices running Android 2.3 or higher will work with large Android devices including the Galaxy S III and the HTC One X. As the video embedded below attempts to highlight, the controller should help make mobile gaming on smartphones less frustrating than using touch controls alone.
The MOGA incorporates dual-analog sticks along with shoulder triggers. It also includes four action buttons making it very competitive when compared with traditional mobile gaming platforms including the Nintendo 3DS and the PlayStation Vita. It uses a counter-balanced design and rubberized grips to help minimized wrist fatigue for longer gaming sessions, while it connects over Bluetooth. The 2 AAA batteries required to power it will provide users with up to 18 hours of gaming on the go. A companion app has also been released for the device.
Many of the top mobile game developers have also agreed to optimize their games for the MOGA controller. Gameloft, Ratrod Studios, Atari, Namco Bandai, SEGA, Vector Unit, Remedy Entertainment and other publishers have committed to developing MOGA optimized titles. Games already supported include Doom GLES, Crazy Snowboard, and Dungeon Hunter 3. The MOGA controller is retailing for $50, which includes free downloads of Sonic CD and Pac-Man.
