Ultra-wide 29-inch monitor has 4-screen split mode

LG has revealed details of a new monitor with an aspect ratio of 21:9. The LG EA93 is a 29-inch IPS display that has a wider aspect ratio than the 16:9 usually seen in HDTVs, and is claimed to improve productivity by allowing two-page documents to be read side-by-side easily, and by offering a 4-Screen split that can divide the picture up into two to four customizable segments.

The display has a resolution of 2560x1080, and can perform 100-percent sRGB color expression. Video is received by a DVI-D Dual port, two HDMI connectors, and a Display port, allowing the screen split to be made up of multiple video sources as well as using the provided software for one source, with one of the HDMI ports also counting as a mobile high-definition link. Built-in 7-watt speakers, a headphone-out port, and three USB 3.0 ports finish its connectivity.

Initially available in South Korea for 690,000 won ($630), the LG EA93 will slowly appear in other markets towards the end of the year.
