Nexus 7 to get Android 4.2 mid-November

Owners of Google's Nexus 7 tablet will have to wait until the middle of November in order to receive an update to the latest version of Android, version 4.2 Jelly Bean. The Search giant initially promised the update for the 29th of October, but Asus tells CNet that they are still waiting on Google to deliver the code for the update. Version 4.2 will make its official debut next week with the release of the Nexus 4 from LG and the Samsung manufactured Nexus 10 tablet.

Version 4.2 retains the name Jelly Bean, as it is largely an incremental update. It brings a few new features, including a 3D panorama mode called Photo Sphere, user accounts for tablets, and a Swype-style keyboard.

We all know this is a bunch of malarkey. These OS and device manufacturers rarely, if ever, release a new/updated OS to existing devices when it is the selling point for new devices, because they would rather you get the new device. Samsung does this with their phones all the time.
