AC1200 capable of 300-megabit connection over Wi-Fi

D-Link has started shipping its latest Dual Band USB Wi-Fi adapter. The AC1200 allows for computers to connect wirelessly at 802.11ac and earlier Wi-Fi standards, with its dual band connection capable of speeds up to 300 megabits per second. The high throughput connection is due in part to the adapter sending multiple simultaneous streams to a compatible router, such as the Cloud Router 5700.

Capable of using both WPA and WPA2, the adapter has a button for Wi-Fi Protected Setup for quick configuration to existing wireless networks. Weighing in at 0.05 pounds, the AC1200 is also packaged with a USB extension cradle, allowing it to be placed further away from connected devices.

The Wireless AC1200 Dual Band USB Adapter is on sale online for $70, and via retailers from late November.
