Number of tablets, handsets sell out quickly

Google has put the Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 on sale in Europe and Australia through the Play Store, with the US version expected to go live later today. As well as the new mobile devices, Google has also listed a Nexus 4 Bumper for £16 ($25), which as an edge-protecting case that does not provide protection for the back, echoing the design of the Apple iPhone 4 bumpers.

While initially running slowly due to the sudden influx of customers, the UK store saw the Android smartphone priced at £240 ($380) and £280 ($440) for 8GB and 16GB. The larger Nexus 10 went on sale for £320 ($510) for the 16GB version and £390 ($620) for the 32GB, while other markets had similar prices for the products.

At the time of writing, both versions of the Nexus 4 are currently out of stock in the UK, along with the 32GB version of the Nexus 10. The 16GB version of the large slate and all versions of the Nexus 7, including the 32GB version with 3G network access, are all in stock.
