Facebook iOS app to mimic feature from Google+
Facebook is testing automatic photo uploads for its iOS app, Engadget reports. A select public trial group is said to have its hands on a tweaked version of the app with a new feature called Photo Sync. In a manner similar to Instant Upload for Google+, Photo Sync pushes new photos to an unpublished album, where people can later select them for posts or organized collections.
Foursquare, meanwhile, has added a "Recently Opened" category to the Explore menu in its iOS app. This lets people find businesses that are new to an area, and reflects Foursquare's evolution into a recommendations service. Recently the company's app gained the ability to score locations between 1 and 10, putting it into competition with Yelp and Google Local.
