Hands on with the Mujjo iPhone 5 wallet

The Mujjo iPhone 5 wallet stands out from the crowd

Dutch boutique accessory maker has an extensive range of Apple accessories that feature either premium leather or a combination of leather with wool felt, all hand-crafted. The Mujjo iPhone 5 wallet comes in two versions, one which uses a combination of light and dark gray wool felt combined with a disctinctive tanned leather strap, or a light gray wool felt version coupled with a white leather strap. MacNN has had the opportunity to spend some time using the former, living with it for the past week.

iPhone and MacBook accessories are a multibillion dollar industry in themselves, with users keen to protect the attractive finish of their prized gadgets. However, not all accessories come with same level of attention to design and detail that feature in Apple’s products themselves. Mujjo has taken on the challenge of complementing Apple’s products with protective gear that stand on their own as impressive design pieces.

The Mujjo iPhone 5 wallet is not designed to replace your everyday wallet, if you happen to own one. However, it will save you from the bulk of carrying two items in either pocket of your pants at the same time, which can get somewhat annoying. The Mujjo iPhone 5 wallet helps protect your iPhone 5 in its natural state, while also allowing you to carry a couple of cards. We used it to carry our ID as well as one bank card and found it to be very practical.

While we tend to carry a larger wallet with us in our backpack, it’s great to be able to leave it in there and travel light with just the Mujjo iPhone 5 wallet on its own. For example, we found it really handy to take just the Mujjo iPhone 5 wallet bearing our iPhone 5 as well as our cards on lunch breaks out of the office. Its treated 100 percent wool felt feels great in the hand and it slides comfortably into pockets.

We also found that the Mujjo iPhone 5 wallet made it far less likely that we would misplace our expensive iPhone when out and about because it was stowed in the wallet when not in use, and quite visible. An iPhone on its own, without the striking wallet, would be much easier to inadvertantly leave behind. The only downside that we could find with the Mujjo iPhone 5 wallet is that because it does not completely hide the iPhone 5 out of the way at the top, it could leave it slightly exposed to inadvertant damage.

Overall though, the Mujjo iPhone 5 wallet is beautifully designed and very well made. During the week, a couple of people commented on it and asked what it was and where we had come across it. It retails for €29.95 plus international shipping charges according to region. If you are looking for a distinctive iPhone 5 protective case that stands out from the crowd, the Mujjo iPhone 5 wallet may be just what you are looking for.
