A report in China Business News claims that Samsung SDI, the company's battery-producing subsidiary, has decided to withdraw from selling batteries to Apple, possibly in retaliation for various moves the iPad maker has made to reduce its dependence on Samsung as a supplier. Two other Chinese firms, Tianjin Lishen Battery and Amperex Technology, are said to be filling in for Samsung's absence in the iPad and MacBook lines of batteries, which Samsung SDI formerly supplied.

Hackers have altered DNS records of websites hosted by Go Daddy, with the aim of infecting visitors with ransomware. The attackers are adding subdomains to the DNS records, pointing to a malicious IP address under their control, allowing victims to believe they are going to the right website, and for the pages to avoid various security protection mechanisms. This attack comes two months after an alleged attack on the Go Daddy network.
Google and members of the European Parliament are opposing the idea of the United Nations changing the way the Internet is regulated. The International Telecommunications Union is holding a conference in Dubai next month to decide on new regulations, and both the search giant and the parliamentary institution are disputing various aspects of the conference.
T-Mobile has sold out of the LG-made Nexus 4 smartphone from Google just a few hours after the announcement of a special sale on the device. Google today began advertising a special offer whereby T-Mobile customers could get the Nexus 4 for $199 with the activation of a two-year contract and a $50 mail-in rebate. A look at the product page for the T-Mobile Nexus 4 currently shows it as out of stock, though it is possible that the device may be in stock at T-Mobile's physical locations.
US carrier AT&T has begun selling refurbished models of the iPhone 5 at a $100 discount. The deal is online-only, and still requires signing up for a two-year contract, as with new models. The cut lowers the 16GB iPhone 5 down to $100, the 32GB to $200, and the 64GB to $300. Black and white options are available.
Apple has failed to supply the iOS 6 source code as promised, Google-owned Motorola has complained to the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida. In the lawsuit it is pursuing against Apple, Motorola says it needs the code to perform infringement analysis. The company first made a request for source code on May 30th, and specific iOS 6 demands on August 7th, October 25th, and November 6th, the last tagged with a request that Apple provide a "date certain." The new complaint notes that Apple has repeatedly promised to provide the code, but missed September 21st and November 9th deadlines it set; another one was recently set for November 30th.
The family of a 9-year-old file sharer in Finland was raided by police earlier this week. The seizure of equipment, including a Disney-branded laptop owned by the child, followed after the family's refusal to abide to Finnish anti-piracy group CIAPC's demands, and has now led to the musical artist to speak out against the legal action.
A senior member on the XDA Developers forums has demonstrated that the Google Nexus 4 made by LG can offer at least limited support for LTE networks. Analysis of the hardware in the Nexus 4 reveals that it contains a baseband chip that can support some LTE networks. However, Google opted not to pursue full LTE capability in order to deliver a one-model handset that would work on any network around the globe, leaving it saddled with 3G HSPA by default.

Microsoft appears to be working on its own version of Project Glass. A patent application filed at the USPTO shows a pair of glasses with an augmented reality display covering part of the field of view, though instead of being a general purpose item as Google's Glass aims to be, Microsoft's version focusses on only one specific purpose: live events.

However, users will find solid saving across Apple’s line up, including discounts on the iPad with Retina display and iPad 2.
