Android 4.2.1 update rolls out to compatible Nexus devices

Google has issued an update for the Google Nexus 10 tablet and the Nexus 4 smartphone taking the devices to Android 4.2.1. The update has also been pushed to the HSPA+ Galaxy Nexus smartphone and the Nexus 7 tablet and brings with it minor enhancements. The most notable of which, is a fix for the glitch that deleted the month of December to the People contacts app.

Although the size of the update is relatively small, a few additional key fixes have also been rolled into the latest flavor of Jelly Bean. Bugs with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi have been addressed, although some users have been reporting significant improvements with speed and responsiveness on the Nexus 7 tablet, in particular. The update is available over the air.

Android 4.2 ‘Jelly Bean’ brings with it a number of feature enhancements over the previous version of Android 4.1 ‘Jelly Bean.’ Tablet users can now enjoy multiple user accounts, expandable and actionable notifications, resizable widgets, gesture typing and a new Photo Sphere function for supported devices.
