Facebook Photo Sync brings automatic photo sharing

updated 02:57 pm EST, Fri November 30, 2012

Facebook lets users sync up to 2GB of photos from phones

Facebook today announced a new feature expanding the photo sharing capabilities of its iOS and Android apps. The new Photo Sync feature allows users to set up automatic photo sharing from their mobile devices, and it has been enabled on some user accounts since August, but Facebook is now making it available to a growing number of Facebook users starting today.

Photo Sync works similarly to an automatic photo sharing feature Google built into the Google+ Android app earlier this year, except that Photo Sync stores all automatically uploaded photos in a user folder that is set to private by default. Once photos are uploaded, users can choose the sharing options for each in the Synced from Phone folder.

Users have access to 2GB of automatic uploading space. In order to use the new feature, users should make certain they are running the most recent version of either the Android or iOS Facebook apps.
