Multi-function printer connects eight wireless devices to network

HP has put an all-in-one laser printer with a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot on sale in India, effectively performing the usual task of a wireless hub. The HP Hotspot LaserJet Pro M1218nfs multi-function printer connects to a wired network via Ethernet, and can allow up to eight other devices to wirelessly connect at the same time.

The seven-in-one printer can print up to 18 pages per minute, with its first page printed within nine seconds of starting, and is rated by the company to perform up to 8000 pages per month. Wireless printing via Apple AirPrint is available as well as HP ePrint, while the scanner can read at up to 1200dpi at seven pages per minute. Copier and fax fuctions are also included, as is a document feeder.

The Hotspot LaserJet Pro is on sale in India for 18,000 rupees ($330) according to Engadget, and though a future release of something similar is likely in other markets, it has not been revealed when this would occur.
