Canon redesigns Pixma, CanoScan line, prepares to ship

Wireless printers have paper cartridges at front, sits flush to wall
Canon has refreshed its printer and scanner lines with an improved design aesthetic and a number of functional improvements. Three Pixma printers, two of which are classed as "All-In-One" printers, and a CanoScan scanner have been listed by the company as being close to release in stores, with wireless connectivity being the main focal point, besides the redesigns.
The Pixma MG6320 and MG5420 are the two wireless AIO offerings, with the dual paper cassettes placed on the front to allow them to be flush to the wall. Both are capable of printing borderless edge-to-edge 4x6-inch photos inside 21 seconds at a resolution of 9600x2400dpi, using five individual dye-based ink tanks in the MG5420 and a sixth gray tank in the MG6320. A HD Movie Print mode will allow both models to print images based on individual movie frames, from video footage captured by a compatible HD Canon EOS camera, PowerShot camera, or VIXIA camcorder. The MG6320 also has a 3.5-inch touchscreen and an Intelligent Touch System that illuminates just the keys that can be used at that moment.
The Pixma iP7220 wireless printer, also redesigned for easier positioning, matches both MG-prefix printers with a maximum color resolution of 9600x2400dpi and a 4x6-inch print speed of 21 seconds, though it has far faster output speeds for more plain offerings. For black and white prints, it can reach 15 pages per minute, or for color, 10 per minute.
The only scanner in the reveal, the CanoScan 9000F Mark II Photo Scanner is capable of scanning a 35mm film strip with a supplied scanning guide and frame. A normal scanning resolution of 4800x4800dpi is raised to 9600x9600 for film scanning, and a built-in Auto Document Fix analyzes documents to make text clear, and to help pictures maintain color and contrast.
The Pixma MG6320 will go on sale for $200, the Pixma GM5420 for $150, and $100 for the Pixma iP7220. The CanoScan 9000F Mark II scanner is said to retail for $200, though no release dates have been provided for any of these products.

I wish they would focus more on redesigning their ink cartridges first... they seem to suffer from Budgetitis.
