Google partners with DonorsChoose.org for school promotion

Google announced a partnership today that will see the search giant working with DonorsChoose.org to provide Chromebooks at a special, discounted rate for teachers in budget-strapped classrooms. Under the new program, Google and DonorsChoose.org will be providing the Samsung Series 5 Chromebook for $99. That cost will include hardware, management, and support.

Teachers can visit DonorsChoose.org's site in order to take advantage of the offer by December 21, 2012. DonorsChoose.org will post teachers' requests, and then any visitor to the site will be able to choose to support a teacher's efforts. Upon reaching the funding goal, Chromebooks will be shipped from Lakeshore Learning, DonorsChoose.org's fulfillment partner for the program.
