Retrospective includes personalization options
Social service Twitter has put its Year In Review online, a retrospective look back at the biggest stories and posts this year. As well as covering major news items from around the world, readers can also see a personalized chart of their own Twitter usage, complete with statistics on retweets, replies, and dominating subjects through Vizify.
The most retweeted post for the year was President Barack Obama's message of "Four more years" accompanying a photograph of him embracing Michelle Obama after his successful re-election campaign. Posts by Justin Bieber and TJ Lang came in second and third place respectively. The Summer Olympics dominated conversation on the service, alongside talk of the US election coverage and Superstorm Sandy.
The year has also been eventful for the microblog company, including user detail leaks, restrictions on third-party Twitter client user numbers, improvements in 'promoted tweets' for advertizing, and the sudden withdrawal of Instagram from the service earlier this week.
