Android Facebook app gets in-feed photo browsing

Facebook has released an update to the Android version of its mobile app, one that brings considerable speed improvements and changes to the app's functionality. Photos and stories now load more quickly in the app, allowing users to tap into and out of stories and comment quickly. Users also now have the option to swipe through photos without leaving the News Feed.

The new Stories bar `also allows users to see more stories without refreshing the feed.

The update comes at the end of a long revamp process for the Android app. Facebook was recently said to be encouraging its staff to get Android devices in order to test the Android Facebook experience and make it better.
