Xfinity TV app works for Android and iOS

Comcast announced today that it would be extending the opportunity for its Xfinity TV customers to download content from the Internet to their mobile devices. The Xfinity TV Player App now lets customers watch their favorite content while on the go, without having to be connected to the Internet for streaming. Starting today, customers can download thousands of premium TV and movie content from Showtime, Starz, Encore, and Movieplex.

Showtime programming like Homeland and Dexter will now be available for download, as well as Starz programming like Spartacus and Magic City. Comcast will be adding more content from additional partners in the future.

Comcast is also teaming with Verizon Wireless in order to allow Verizon customers to stream and download content directly to mobile devices over its 4G LTE network. The Xfinity TV player app is available as a free download on Apple's App Store and Google's Play Store.
