Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements slashed for sale

Over the weekend, Adobe revealed its second sale this holiday season for image editing software Photoshop Elements 11, movie creator Premiere Elements 11, and photo archival tool Lightroom 4. The sale runs through January 6. Lightroom 4 has been reduced to $130, from the original retail of $149. Both Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11 have been cut to $80, from $99. A bundle consisting of both Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11 is $99.

Both Elements packages have received user interface updates as well as improvements to individual aspects of the applications. Illustration filters have been added to Photoshop Elements, with "guided edits" offering easy effect implementation such as depth of field modification, and tilt-shift. Premiere Elements has added DVD authoring, and can be used as a replacement for the now-defunct iDVD application.

Pixelmator will do just fine for me and nearly everyone else. Adobe has overcharged for way too long and will never get my business again. I am also tired of them releasing many updates and features for Windows versions first and waiting for a blue moon to release a watered down Mac version. They have continued to thumb their noses at the Mac community and deserve to go out of business.
