Contextual features, camera app updates added to smartphone

Samsung has started rolling out its Premium Suite for the Galaxy S III in the United Kingdom. The update, which adds multi-window support and camera enhancements, among other changes, is being pushed out starting from today according to the company, though this could take up to a week to actually complete, depending on individual networks.

The camera app will have Best Face, which will take five images of each person in an image and allow the user to select the best facial expressions, as well as a new low-light mode, and an expansion of Panorama up to 360 degrees. Image editing tool Paper Artist is also included, while the Auto Share Shot feature allows for photo and video exchanges between S-Beam devices using NFC. Contextual awareness has also been improved, with Smart Rotation using the viewer's face to select which direction to rotate in, contextual tagging of images and videos, and a contextual page that appears when earphones are plugged in, showing apps usable with them.

The Premium Suite update has already reached some international editions of the handset. Versions for US carriers are expected to be released in the coming months.
