Users report long downloads on Android update

Owners of the original Droid Razr from Motorola have reportedly begun receiving notifications that their devices are ready for a software update that will bring them to Android 4.1.2. The update to Jelly Bean will bring improved functionality, as well as changes to the user interface for Android's notifications system and several apps. The update is not proceeding smoothly, though, as some users are reporting difficulties in getting it to install.

Android blog Droid Life first noticed the update today. It is apparently available for both the Droid Razr and Droid Razr Maxx. Some users are reporting, though, that the update is taking a long time to download and that there is no progress bar. There has as yet been no official word from Verizon or Motorola on the update, so it is possible that it is an early or unintentional leak, though some users have been able to complete the update. Those users report that the download is about 311MB in size and has a build number of 98.72.8.
