Video shows 6.1-inch screen demonstration in store
A video showing a Huawei executive demonstrating a phone with a 6.1-inch screen, rumored to be the Ascend Mate, has appeared online. The addition to the Ascend line, shown off by Huawei's Richard Yu, is seen to be demonstrated in a Huawei store in Guangzhou, ahead of the company's presentation at CES in two weeks time.
The video itself gives little in the way of specifics for the handset, aside from it being fairly large to hold. According to Engadget, who identified the executive in the video, the Ascend Mate will have a quad-core HiSilicon K3V3 processor running at 1.8GHz and a 4,000 mAh battery, and despite having the large 6.1-inch, 1080p screen, the Android-based handset will measure 9.9mm thick (0.38 inches), though this could still change before its release.
It has been suggested that the phone-tablet will retail for around $480.
