P-02E to sport 1920x1080 display, Android 4.1.2

Panasonic has had another handset approved by the FCC, with filings from the regulatory body revealing what appears to be a high-end Android device. The P-02E sports a recent version of Jelly Bean, NFC, LTE, and a high-resolution screen. It doesn't appear to be coming to the United States any time soon, though; the filing has the device headed for Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo.

In addition to NFC, LTE, and a 5-inch 1920x1080 display, the P-02E has a retractable antenna for mobile TV. It runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, and it also has wireless charging capabilities. It is also expected to be waterproof, though nothing in the filing confirms that.

In light of its ongoing revenue troubles, Panasonic has been focusing on its home market and trying to claw back share from Samsung and Apple. Observers don't expect that the P-02E will be making an appearance on American shores any time soon, even with the FCC approval. The handset may be available for importing in the near future, though.
