Xperia Z Yuga to have first 1920x1080 display in Sony range
Sony is set to announce the next in its Xperia smartphone series at CES before its introduction to the Chinese market, according to reports. The Xperia Z, also known as the Yuga, is said to debut at the exhibition next month and in China on January 15th, and will be the company's first mobile phone with a five-inch,1920x1080 resolution screen.
The Xperia Z will have a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor supported by 2GB of RAM, has a 12-megapixel rear camera with a flash, will be able to connect to LTE networks, and offer NFC connectivity. The report by ePrice claims the device will be both dust and water resistant, and have three function keys integrated into the screen itself.
One week after its reveal at CES, the Xperia Z will go on sale for around 4,300 yuan ($690). Its January release date pits the Android smartphone against other offerings being introduced at the same time, such as the ZTE Nubia Z5.
