New Sony Xperia devices to pack 1080p screens
Sony kicked off the new year with two views of its new Xperia handsets, releasing press shots of its forthcoming Xperia Z and ZL smartphones. The two devices popped up on the Sony Mobile site, giving Xperia fans a glimpse of the Japanese firm's newest high-end Android phones. The Xperia Z is the same model as the Yuga handset that leaked earlier, while the Xperia ZL is the slightly smaller Odin model.
The Xperia Z is thought to pack a 5-inch display, and both models are said to output at a resolution of 1080p. Inside, both are said to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz. They are also rumored to include 2GB of RAM, Adreno 320 graphics, and a 13MP Exmore RS rear camera sensor.
Sony will reportedly be showing off the two new handsets at this year's CES, with the Xperia Z set to launch in China on January 15. The Zperia Z is expected to retail for around 4,300 yuan ($690) when it launches.
