Ascend P1 shows up, contract-free for $450


Having passed FCC testing in the middle of last year, Huawei's Ascend P1 smartphone is finally available on the American market at online retailer Amazon. Customers can get the Huawei flagship handset for $450 from Amazon today. The version on sale does not have LTE capability, but it support HSPA+ 3G on American GSM carriers such as AT&T, Straight Talk, and T-Mobile.

The Ascend P1 is offered with a US warranty. It is also offered unlocked and without a contract requirement.

The Ascend P1 runs Android 4.0 on a dual-core 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4460 processor. It has a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED qHD 960x540 touchscreen and measures 5.08x0.3x2.55-inches. It also packs an 8MP HD camera with auto-focus and dual-LED flash.
