Buqu expands Magnetyze charging dock line for iPhone 5

Solution provides charging and data through magnetic connector

Battery charging peripheral manufacturer BuQu has announced that pre-orders will commence in the second quarter of 2013 on the new Magnetyze Magnetic Charging System for the iPhone 5. The new Android and iPhone-compatible charging station is newly tailored to suit the iPhone 5's larger form factor and Lightning connector. Existing Magnetyze users will be able purchase just a new case for compatibility with existing docks.

The new iPhone 5 bundle contains a Magnetyze protective case, desk stand and combination magnetic charging plus data sync cable. As with the previously iPhone 4/4S Magnetyze Charging Station users slide the iPhone 5 into the Magnetyze protective case and attach the polycarbonate bumper over the smartphone. Magnets integrated into both the case and desk stand enable seamless attachment and simultaneous charging and data synchronization.  The mounted device can swivel 360 degrees for both vertical and horizontal use -- without detaching the phone from the stand or disrupting charging or synchronization.

Existing Magnetyze docks are compatible with the new iPhone 5 protective case. Pricing on the new case is not yet available, but existing case/dock combinations for the iPhone 4 and 4S are $70. A Samsung Galaxy S III package is available for $60.
