No plans to offer streaming video with Prime in Canada

Amazon has launched its lauded subscription-based Prime delivery service in Canada. The all-you-can-eat delivery service offers users free two-day delivery across the country, though it offers a more stripped-down version of the retailer's own offering in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Canadian shoppers can opt for one-day delivery on items bought, at a discount as low as $4 CAD ($4) per item, and standard shipping is also free for orders where one-day and two-day shipping is unavailable to use. Extras such as the Kindle Owners' Lending Library, available in the UK and US, and Prime Instant Video are not available to Canadian subscribers as of yet, something that country manager Steve Oliver of Amazon.ca says the retailer has "no plans to offer," according to the Times Colonist.

Amazon Prime costs $79 CAD ($80) per year plus taxes, with Amazon offering a free one-month trial of the service.
