Ultrabook with Windows 8, touchscreen

Samsung brought several of its latest computers to CES, where Electronista took a closer look at the latest devices. The 15.6-inch Series 7 Chronos and 13.3-inch Series 7 Ultra offer the full Windows 8 experience in a portable package, pairing touchscreens with Intel's i7- and i5-series processors.

The Chronos is the flagship model, with a larger display and multi-touch screen included in the basic package. We liked the brushed-metal finish and solid feel, while a quad-core i7 chip and 2GB radeon discrete graphics enable a snappy experience.

The Ultra is the smaller model, though it still retains a 1920x1080 display and optional touchscreen. The compact build takes advantage of Intel's ultra-low voltage i7 or i5 processors and 1GB AMD graphics, though a 256GB SSD is the maximum storage option.

We liked both notebooks, which exemplify the Windows 8 "ultrabook" concept, though it is difficult to make a complete judgement without learning the price tags.
