AMD targets premium market

AMD is currently showing off its 2013 products at CES, where the company announced a partnership with Vizio. The latter company has integrated the latest A10 APU in its 24-inch all-in-one, which we had a chance to try out before it arrives on the market later this year.

Vizio already offers its 24-inch AIO with a choice between Intel's Core i3 and i5 processors, however the AMD partnership has resulted in a new configuration with a quad-core A10 APU and Radeon HD Graphics. All configurations share the same aesthetics, giving AMD's platform a new foray into the premium PC market.

The A10 chip appears to easily power the device, enabling responsive movement during touch manipulation of the Windows 8 interface.

We expect the AMD-powered AIO to be a more affordable configuration compared to the Intel builds, though Vizio has yet to announce pricing.
