VAIO T lineup to evolve this spring
Earlier this week Sony announced the evolution of its VAIO T lineup with the addition of an updated 14-inch model and a brand new 15-inch model. Sony was stringent in providing any actually specs or pricing for the new models and have only given "spring 2013" as a vague release date. However, both the T14 and T15 were present on the show floor so Electronista stopped by the booth to take a look.
The updated T14 carries the same stylings as its predecessor, but now includes a touch display. Otherwise, all of the exterior specs seem to match that of original T14 that was launch back in October. The built-in keyboard was comfortable to type on with well spaced keys, however, the force needed to actually press a key felt a little on the light side. The T14 also features the same click trackpad from previous releases that clearly borrows design elements from Apple's glass trackpad.
Based on the same design as the T14, the new 15-inch T15 is the largest VAIO Ultrabook that Sony has offered so far. The laptop was noticeably heavier than the 13- and 14-inch models, but did provide a broad selection of ports. Down the left side of the laptop user's will find a single USB 3.0 port, Ethernet jack, VGA, HDMI, and headphone jack, while the right side holds two USB 2.0 ports and the disc drive. The 15-inch model also offers a 1080p display compared to the 1377 x 768 display found on the T14. The display was very responsive to touch input and was capable of easily recognizing multi-touch gestures.
