All plan tiers include unlimited calls, texts

MetroPCS has announced a set of wireless contracts for 4G LTE with a focus on simplicity, including one with unlimited data. The new mobile phone plans all include unlimited voice minutes and texts, and offer three different tiers of service, with the only differentiation being the amount of 4G data usage is permitted each month on the subscription.

The highest tier includes unlimited 4G data usage, and costs $60 per month, including taxes. Lower tiers, offering 2.5GB and 500MB of 4G LTE access, are charged at $50 and $40 respectively. An extra $5 value bundle can also be added to a subscription, providing features such as call forwarding, 30 minutes of roaming, and unlimited directory assistance, while a $10 addition permits the use of the smartphone as a mobile hotspot, using the data allowance, if applicable.

The carrier's 4G LTE network passed the 1 million subscriber barrier in October, putting the proportion of subscribers using 4G LTE through the company at approximately 12-percent.
