Smart Scaling adjusts screen size on the fly

BenQ has extended its catalog of display devices with the introduction of a "professional gaming monitor" with a very fast 1ms response time. Revealed at the same time as a pair of 3D projectors, the RL2455HM offers competitive gamers highly-customizable display with the added ability to switch between seven monitor screen sizes on the fly.

The 24-inch LED widescreen monitor has a Full HD native resolution at a 60Hz refresh rate, claimed to be tuned to match console video output. The 1ms GTG response time is also accompanied by a 12 million to 1 contrast ratio, dual HDMI ports and integrated 2-watt stereo speakers. Among the customization options, users can use BenQ's Black eQualizer to adjust screen brightness without overexposing white levels, while the Smart Scaling can adjust the scale of the image to virtually any custom size automatically, as low down as a 17-inch 4:3 format screen, without impacting controller sensitivity.

BenQ will be putting the RL2455HM gaming monitor on sale in March for around $230.
