Shares physical design aspects with Grand S LTE

ZTE will be releasing a five-inch budget-ranged smartphone in China, according to a database operated by Chinese regulator TENAA. The V987 has a similar appearance to the recently-revealed Grand S LTE, though its internal specifications have been reduced in search of a cheaper price, while its physical design appears to be much thicker than the Grand S.

The capacitive display on the V987, though matching the physical size of the Grand S, is at a lower 720p resolution according to Engadget. The rear camera has been reduced from 13-megapixels to 8-megapixels, while the processor is now a 1.2GHz quad-core offering running Android instead of the quad-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro. It does have dual-SIM support and an increased battery capacity that is also removable, rated at 2,500mAh.

A release date and price for the V987 have yet to be revealed by ZTE, but it is likely to be cheaper than the Grand S LTE.
