One, Duet allow charging connected iOS devices

Audio gear maker Apogee has announced updates to three Mac-oriented USB interfaces. For the whole trio the company is introducing a new Maestro iOS app, giving the iPad the same hardware control options as the Mac; the app should also work on the iPhone and iPod touch. Apogee's upgraded One interface features two inputs, iOS device charging, optional internal battery use, and new mic preamps and AD/DA converters. An integrated mic and breakout cable can be used to connect a 1/4-inch cable or XLR. The new One is shipping in March at a cost of $349.

The Duet has four outputs, two inputs, an OLED display, and a breakout cable, and like the One can now charge connected iOS devices through a USB port. It should ship in February for $595.

The Quartet has four inputs and eight outputs, and is being updated to support Maestro for both new and current users. In the latter case, people will need to install a firmware update. Preconfigured Quartets will arrive in February for $1,295.

This prosumer gear is cheaply made. Not sure if it's even worth the price tags anymore.
