Twitter for web gets image preview tweaks, gallery videos

updated 04:53 pm EST, Wed January 30, 2013

Gallery feature supports several video sources

Social network Twitter has announced two minor improvements to its web interface. The first is the ability to enlarge images in profile pages and search results. Previously clicking on a link would force a browser to navigate away, but now images should appear in a brief pop-up.

The other is the ability to include video in galleries. Supported sources include Vine, YouTube, and others already viewable as expandable inline video content. Vine is Twitter's first-party video snapshot service, which has been beset by a number of launch problems.
