New case adds only 7mm to thickness of iPad mini

Accessory manufacturer Belkin today introduced a thin and light Bluetooth wireless keyboard for the iPad mini -- the FastFit Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard Case. The case combines a physical keyboard typing experience, easy portability and convenient power capabilities in one package. At 7mm (0.28") thick, the FastFit keyboard cover is thinner than the iPad mini itself.

The keyboard also features Belkin’s TruType keyboard, which provides spaced keys for fast and accurate typing.  As opposed to a membrane keyboard, each key has a spring mechanism that provides tactile feedback when struck, helping touch typists maintain speed.

The case’s Bluetooth 3.0 connection and 200mAh battery ensure wireless typing with long battery life. The FastFit can last for up to 155 hours of active use without needing a charge. In addition, FastFit’s cover wakes the iPad when opened, and puts it to sleep when the cover is closed.

The FastFit Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard Case for iPad Mini will sell for $80 and will be available for pre-order soon on Belkin.com. No announcement about retail availability has been made.
