First smartphone with Nokia Easy Swap Dual SIM support

Nokia has announced a new addition to its line of Series 40 phones. The Asha 310 follows on from the Asha 308 and Asha 309 in being a budget-oriented smartphone, and is the first Asha handset to have Nokia's Easy Swap Dual SIM support, a feature which allows the user to assign unique profiles for up to five SIM cards.

Sporting a 3-inch capacitive multipoint-touch screen with a 400x240 resolution, the Asha 310 includes a 1110mAh battery, a maximum standby time of 600 hours on 2G, a 2-megapixel rear camera, and 128MB of mass storage expandable to 32GB through microSD. While it lacks support for 3G connectivity, Nokia does provide 40 free games from EA to download over Wi-Fi, as well as the inclusion of the Nokia Xpress Browser, which claims to compress Internet data by up to 90-percent.

Heading into emerging markets including Asia, Africa, and Brazil in the first quarter, the Asha 310 will cost $102. Details of a US release have not been revealed.
