More 128GB version in stores by end of week

Microsoft has confirmed that more stock of its Surface Pro will be heading to stores. The head of the Surface team, Panos Panay, posted on Twitter that more 64GB models are shipping to Staples, Best Buy, Microsoft Stores and for online orders, while the 128GB variant will be reaching Best Buy and Microsoft Stores by Saturday.

A later post on the Surface company blog clarified the situation further, in that retail stores in Canada that stock the Surface Pro will be following a similar timeline, though delayed further by a few days. It is also said that orders will be fulfilled for those reserving the device first, with later orders and walk-in purchases being a secondary priority.

It is claimed that demand for the Surface Pro is "high," though it is not clear exactly how high. A recent report claims that Microsoft only ordered 1 million units of the Surface Pro, as it was trying to run down its Surface RT inventory.
