Update adds music search, fixes bugs, Fandango movie passes

Google is in the process of pushing an update to its Search app for owners of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and above. The new version of the app adds the Google Now search widget, movie ratings, real estate listings, and Fandango movie pass retrieval. Additionally, US users have a music search button added to identify a song playing that the device senses in voice mode.

The new Google Now widget brings important Now cards to the phone's home or lock screen, eliminating the need to open the app. The Sound Search widget syncs across all of your devices, so that song recognized with a phone can be quickly purchased from devices in other locations. For devices running Android 4.2, the music widget can be added to the lock screen for easier access. Google notes that assorted bug fixes have been applied to the update, as well as collegiate sports support.
