Velocity Micro unveils Raptor MultiPlex home theater PC

Raptor MultiPlex can perform four concurrent recordings, Blu-ray playback
Velocity Micro has made available a new Home Theater PC, said to be the most powerful living room computer on the market. The Raptor Multiplex offers customers an extremely capable gaming PC that also provides DVR functionality with up to four concurrent recordings through its digital TV tuners, as well as Blu-ray playback and options for media streaming.
Powered by a choice of Intel Core i5 and Core i7 Ivybridge processors with options for either 8GB or 16GB of RAM and running Windows 8 Pro, the Raptor Multiplex uses Nvidia graphics starting from the GeForce GTX 660 climbing to the GTX 680, up to three TV tuners with the addition of Digital Cable Card connectivity, and provides 9.1-channel audio with S/PDIF out. Storage is provided by a combination of Intel 520 Series SSDs and up to three 2-terabyte hard drives configured in RAID 5, with an additional option for connectivity through its Thunderbolt port.
On sale now, the Raptor Multiplex starts from $1,900 for the basic configuration.
