Gear4 rolls out new iPhone 5 Lightning connector docks

Gear4 has taken the wraps off its AlarmDock Halo 3 and StreetParty 5, both designed for the iPhone 5 and its proprietary Lightning connector. Gear4 claims that the AlarmDock Halo 3 is the first Lightning-equipped alarm clock radio made for the iPhone 5. Both the AlarmDock Halo 3 and StreetParty 5 portable speaker dock are also Apple 'Made for iPod, iPhone' certified.

The new AlarmDock Halo 3 is app-enhanced, working in conjunction with a free app that offers extended functionality when used in tandem. Users can set their alarm on the app, which then automatically synchronizes the time and in-app alarms when docked. Users can also choose from a variety of customizable alarm sounds or use the multi-source in-app media player to wake up to songs from either an iTunes collection or Spotify account or network music.

The StreetParty 5 is the latest Lightning-equipped speaker from Gear4 and is fully portable thanks to its ability to be powered by 4x AA batteries, or mains if needed. It includes a fold-away dock that is designed to make the speakers more compact for on the go use, while it can charge an iPod or iPhone if connected to a mains power source. It weighs 580 grams and comes with a two-year extended warranty if purchased through gear4.com.

The Gear4 AlarmDock Halo 3 is retailing for $130 and the StreetParty 5 for $80. Both are available now, either through the Gear4 website, or at major retailers.
