New HTC Facebook phone codenamed Myst, carries mid-range specs

Details of the next HTC smartphone with Facebook hooks have leaked courtesy of Unwired View. The device is currently going by the codename Myst, and will carry what will be solid, but mid-range specifications. As with HTC's previous Facebook phones, the ChaCha and the Salsa, the device will carry deeper than usual Facebook integration.

In addition to quick sharing and posting to Facebook functions, the Myst will also be preinstalled with the Facebook app, Facebook Messenger and Instagram among other unspecified apps. It will be powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor matched with 1GB of RAM and will center on a 4.3-inch display with support for 720p video. Pixels-per-inch will be a near 'Retina' 320ppi.

Storage will be limited to 16GB of internal memory with no microSD card support. The rear camera will be 5-megapixel, while the front camera will 1.6-megapixel, though it will sport 4G LTE capability. Connectivity also includes Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11n. The HTC Myst will also ship with Android 4.1.2 'Jelly Bean' with no word on whether it will get a quick update to Android 4.2 'Jelly Bean.'

Earlier rumors pegged a launch late last year, although it seems on a trajectory for a Q2 2013 debut.
