Claims 13M track catalog, personalized stations

DoubleTwist is throwing its hat into the personalized streaming music market with the launch of Magic Radio. Differing from the usual method of creating a station from a single song, employed by such services as Pandora, Magic Radio uses existing playlists, favorite genres, keywords, and mood to personalize stations as much as possible.

Using a catalog of over 13-million songs, Magic Radio also allows the stations to be further tuned by modifying the tempo and the familiarity of songs played. Magic Radio is also fully compatible with MagicPlay, an open source audio streaming platform developed by DoubleTwist and Qualcomm, unveiled at Mobile World Congress last month.

Available through Google Play, Magic Radio through the DoubleTwist Player costs $4 per month, and offers a 7-day free trial.
