Evernote 5 for Android adds new camera modes, shortcuts
Evernote has updated its Android app to include a new camera interface, as well as a number of UI improvements. The new Multi-shot Camera mode can take multiple photographs and combine them into one single note, while Page Camera can take a shot of a notebook, line up the edges, remove shadows and improve the contrast of the image for easier reading. Shortcuts that appeared in the Mac release in October make the transition to Android, allowing for quicker navigation between notes, and premium users will be able to use a more powerful document search facility.
Google Chrome update adds new dictionaries, adds custom dictionary synchronization
Google has rolled out another stable release of the Chrome browser, with improved spell checking being the focus of the update. Dictionaries have been refreshed for all languages, with new dictionaries being included for Korean, Tamil, and Albanian, while words added to the custom dictionaries can now be synched across all devices using Chrome, according to a company blog. The "Ask Google for suggestions" option now provides grammar checking, proper nouns, homonyms, and context-sensitive spell checking in English. Chrome users on Windows, Linux, and Chrome OS will receive the update in the coming weeks, while Mac support is still being worked on by the Chrome team.
