Windows Phone 8 smartphone uses 8MP camera, 1.5GHz processor
Details relating to the Huawei Ascend W2 specifications have reportedly appeared online. The high-end Windows Phone 8 device is alleged to have a Qualcomm S4 processor running at 1.5GHz supported by 1GB of RAM, along with an image showing a slightly more rounded design compared to its predecessor, the Ascend W1.
The specifications from FastCardTech claim the device has a 4.3-inch, 720p IPS display, a rear-facing 8-megapixel camera with autofocus and 1080p video recording options, and a 2,000mAh battery. Though a microSD card slot is mentioned, built-in storage is not. Connectivity over Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, DLNA, and HSPA+ is included, though there is no mention of LTE support nor NFC.
The price, combined with the sale date of November 2012 and the overall appearance of the retailer's website, may generate some doubt as to the validity of the specifications list without alternate sources. The site currently has the Ascend W2 at a wholesale price of $289, but it is listed as out of stock.
