Widescreen display capable of replacing two monitors

AOC has unveiled a new monitor aimed at providing the experience of two monitors in one display. The 29-inch Q2963PM IPS monitor has an aspect ratio of 21:9, providing a cinematic view with its WHFD 2560x1080-resolution screen, and can be used to view two separate inputs on the same screen, as well as from a single source.

The Picture-in-Picture and Picture-by-Picture modes can receive video from its HDMI, DisplayPort and DVI inputs, as well as from a smartphone or tablet over MHL. A DisplayPort out allows for the monitor to be daisy-chained to other screens, to be used as one single display or as multiple independent screens. The Q2963PM has a viewing angle of up to 178 degrees, both vertically and horizontally, boasts a dynamic contrast ration of 50 million to one, a response time of 5ms, and built-in 3-Watt stereo speakers.

AOC has put the Q2963PM on sale in the US for $500.

Will this work with a late 2012 Mac Mini?

The company site doesn't seem to do pre-sales support. I did get through to a form of tech support by phone but he'd never heard of this model. I'm interested in this monitor because it promises 2560x1080 resolution. The tech support person said that their monitors "work" with Macs, but didn't even understand my question, which is, will it work at that resolution, and with what connector?

Does anyone have any knowledge of this monitor, particularly with a mac mini?

If I were to buy it, does anyone know about this company's return policy?

    Thanks for your help,
    ge
