Rogers, Bell, Telus to stock Q10, selling on three-year contract
The BlackBerry Q10 will be going on sale in Canada on May 1. The BlackBerry OS 10 device with a QWERTY keyboard will reach its home country on the main three networks ahead of the US, somewhere that BlackBerry has yet to announce a release date for, with pre-orders starting up for a majority of carriers.
Rogers Wireless, Bell Mobility, and Telus will receive the Q10, and will be selling it at $199 when bought with a three-year contract. Virgin Mobile Canada, Fido, Koodo Mobile, and Sasktel will also sell the device, along with Best Buy, Future Shop, Tbooth Wireless, The Source, Walmart Canada, and Wireless Wave.
Though a release date for the Q10 in the United States is not known, the fact it is going on sale in Canada suggests it may do so in the US soon. Bloomberg reports that it will do so by the end of May at a cost of $249, though this has yet to be confirmed by BlackBerry itself.
