Friend finding through Facebook, Twitter enabled, 'via' feature restored
Pinterest has made some adjustments to its design and functionality, only a month after the social network revealed its new look. A number of items dropped from the site have been brought back after users provided feedback, with the team also adding improvements to notifications, search, and alerts relating to new pins being added to the home feed.
After pinning an item, users can select 'See it now' to view the pinned item again or other related boards, states the company blog. The 'via' feature, where the source boards and users of items being pinned are viewable, has been added back in, while mentioning friends in pin descriptions by using @ before their name has also returned. Finding and adding friends from Facebook and Twitter is also available.
In terms of new items, more recent activities has been added to a drop-down box in the upper right corner, and displays when others follow, repin, like, comments, or mentions things related to the account. Search now offers extra keywords along with typed terms, including images in some instances.
In the future, Pinterest is thinking about introducing a number of other features, such as rearranging pins, searching for pins created by the user themselves, warning over repetitious pins, and boards within boards, though not all will make it to the new site.
