Vine confirms Android version of video app in the works

Popular video app Vine will be headed to Android in the future. Co-founder of the Twitter-owned app Dom Hofmann confirmed to The Verge it will be ported, following its successful launch on iOS devices. The app, which allows users to create six-second video clips for sharing on social networks, is also reportedly going to include the ability to tag friends to a clip, in order to foster more sharing between users.

Amazon updates Kindle Android app with Kindle Fire influences

Amazon has updated its Kindle app for Android with a number of design changes that brings it closer to the user interface found in the Kindle Fire tablets. The latest version introduces a carousel of book covers for recent items instead of a grid, the navigation panel adds sections for documents and periodicals, and also provides viewing of items just stored on the device as well as items stored in the Amazon cloud.
