Android 4.3 starts showing up in site server logs

Android 4.3 appears to still be Jelly Bean

Google appears to be hard at work on the next update for its Android operating system, and that version would appear to be Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Devices apparently running Android 4.3 have shown up in the server logs of tech blog Android Police recently, indicating that Google may be on the verge of releasing an update. The retention of the Jelly Bean moniker may indicate that the next update of Android will not mark a significant departure from the current versions.

The devices showing up in the server logs were a Nexus 4 and a Nexus 7. Android Police reportedly traced the IP range on hits back to Google employees known to be closely tied to Android. The IP addresses are also said to be the same ones that have previously tipped off the existence of advanced Android builds prior to their announcements.

Additionally, Reddit user Roberth1990 has posted a list of other incidences of 4.3 Jelly Bean popping up, including a Chromium bug discussion, a Qualcomm WLAN driver source code repository, and posts from members of Google's Chrome team.

With its annual Google I/O developer conference set to kick off in less than a month, Google has been widely expected to be preparing to roll out Android version 5.0, dubbed Key Lime Pie. Recently, though, rumors have sprung up that Google is delaying Key Lime Pie in order to give developers some breathing space.
