New processors give up to 10 percent speed increase over predecessors
AMD has deployed a pair of new processors to the component channel. The new AMD FX 4350 and 6350 chips have been added to the line. Both processors are fully AM3+ compatible, fit in a 900-series motherboard and bring up to 10 percent more performance than the processors they replace.
The AMD FX-4350 processor is a four-core CPU that clocks at a 3.9Ghz base speed, with 4.3GHz max operating frequency with 12MB of L2 and L3 cache in a 125W thermal envelope. The FX04350 retails for $122.
Also announced today, the AMD FX-6350 is a six-core CPU also with a 3.9Ghz base speed and up to 4.2GHz peak "turbo" speed, with 14MB of L2 and L3 cache. This six-core CPU retails for $132.
